The Effect of Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor on the Retinal Wound of Laser Photocoagulation

Abstract
A number of cytokines have been proposed as candidates of regulatory molecules in the retinal respones to injury. Among them, we decided to focus on potential role of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) for the following reasons: it is
relatively
abundant in the retina, mitogenic for the most of the relevant cell type, promotes retinal regeneration, affects maintenance of neural and glial cell function.
@ES The results were as follow:
@EN 1. GFAP immunoreactivity of Muller cell begins within 24 hrs and sharply increases until 7 days and then makes slow decrease tendency and is a widespread response.
